Spannrit GmbH is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Noluthando Day Care Center in Khayelitsha, Cape Town. The company is supporting the valuable work of the center, which has been providing a safe environment and loving care for children aged 1 to 6 since 1994.

Under the direction of experienced Waldorf educator Mavis Mbaba, the Noluthando Day Care Centre takes a holistic approach. The children are not only cared for, but also encouraged in their social, emotional, and creative development. After preschool, many of the graduates move on to the neighboring Waldorf school, which allows for a seamless transition into their further education.

The financial support provided by Spannrit GmbH helps to maintain and modernize the center’s classrooms, playrooms, safe playground, and other facilities. In this way, the company makes a direct contribution to early childhood education and the safety of the children.

The pictures show the current state of the Noluthando Day Care Center and illustrate what the existing buildings look like at present and which areas are currently being rebuilt.

Mavis Mbaba’s team has demonstrated its extraordinary commitment, especially during the pandemic: despite months of closures, hot meals were prepared for the children every day. The team was awarded the “Faces of Change” prize for this commitment.
